I’ve been running events and hubs for over six years on behalf of pretty much all of the players in this space, both big and small.

It’s only recently that I joined the team here on a full time basis. I was and continue to be excited by Hatch’s growth journey, but more importantly on their focus on people and innovation.

This is my third career on my journey to grow as a human and to find joy in everything that I do. From my degree in Physics I embarked on a 14 year career delivering projects and programs for a global IT company, and from there to tutoring Maths and Physics A-Level in an inner city comprehensive school, all the while performing in bands from acid jazz to doo wop.

Working at Hatch is the first time I’ve been able to combine my creative and delivery sides in a single career, and I love it for that.

I do what I do because I love design – figuring out how things should work and can be made to work better. After flirtations with theatre and bartending work, I’ve settled for now on being a business designer working with big global organisations.  This presents really exciting challenges: I love both the hard side – getting the processes, systems and data flows right – and the soft side – getting diverse teams to overcome cultural challenges and all pull in the same direction.

I’ve managed to combine my passion for design with my love of travel, working across the world for big banks in London, global tech firms in silicon valley (during my three years living in San Francisco) and industries ranging from water and sewage to video games. I’ve loved every minute!

Since I was a kid, I've always wanted to make things just that little bit better. Whether it was sprucing up the paint job on canal boats or scrubbing pots in my local until they shone, I’ve always been a bit obsessed with going to painstaking lengths to make the outcome the best it can possibly be… I missed all my ‘gold stars’ when I worked at McDonalds because I was spending too long getting the Big Macs to look perfect (I was swiftly demoted to the Hot Apple Pie section!).

This passion for improvement is why I set up Hatch. Here I can obsess about helping organisations become the best they can be in a world that is evolving ever-faster. The future of work is changing, sustainability needs are growing, cost pressures are mounting, and organisations need to respond to these challenges rapidly.

My team at Hatch uses inclusive business design to engage execs with their people, their consumers and even broader society so they can make big decisions that deliver the best possible outcomes in these circumstance. Our methods enable our clients to harness the full power of their organisation to make the world work better, together.

I've been in the management consulting and business design world for 17 years in both the big 4 and boutique consultancies, but really, I'm an entrepreneur and innovator at heart.

From cheffing, to authoring a book, to making wine, my life and business experience spans many sectors, industries and geographic locations.  I'm always looking for opportunities and ideas that make a difference to the world, and this is what I help my clients to do too.

I love creating designs that effortlessly get people into a zen-like state where great ideas just flow by the bucketload, and this, combined with a relentless focus on high quality outcomes makes our work stand out from the rest.

As a Designer at Hatch, I specialise in designing powerful and productive collaborative interventions. Over the past 8 years I’ve worked across many industries and projects, from improving the productivity of operating theatres,

to redefining the vision for crypto-currency organisations. And every single of the projects I’ve loved has had one consistent aspect - bringing together people to co-design their change.

Anyone who works with me knows two things. Firstly, I’m not afraid to challenge. I’m not afraid to push myself and my clients to get to the best possible outcome we can – I love to bring in innovation and disruption as a way to create breakthroughs in our thinking. #neversettle

And secondly – I’m all about the detail. This allows me to design experiences which are tailored to the specific people, goals and context I’m working with, creating something truly bespoke, human, and meaningful.

My love for creating memorable experiences doesn’t stop here – I run workshops, retreats and festivals, to keep the magic going all year long.
